I’m not actually a detective.
I’m Karen, a creative copywriter based in London.
Who’s Detective Natalie? She’s a character I played in a TV series I made with my brother and best friend. When we were twelve. On VHS. But hey, everyone has a dream, right?
Back to the writing.
My career started as an editorial intern writing for British Vogue’s website. You can read some of my first runway reports here. Since then, I’ve written for a range of online retailers and global magazines. I’ve always loved fashion and also work as a stylist and art director.
Although I like to wear leopard print and covet vintage, there's more than just fashion that I enjoy writing about. I’ve worked for a variety of brands like Harley-Davidson, Magnum, Doddle and Plenish and have written video and radio scripts, digital and print adverts, CRM, tone of voice guides and editorial content.
When it comes to my creative process, it’s all about the detail. I really investigate the brief and merge creativity with a strategic point of view. So if you have a project that you’d like to discuss, let’s do coffee and I’ll grab my monocle.
